NORCROSS, GA – Unisource Worldwide announced that its transportation fleet has met the requirements to be become part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership.
SmartWay Transport is the EPA’s flagship program for improving fuel efficiency and reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution from the transportation supply chain. SmartWay Transport is leading the way to greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions from the freight sector, while presenting a model of government and industry cooperation for public and private benefits.

Unisource has approximately 80 distribution facilities across North America and operates a fleet of more than 400 vehicles.
In recent years, the company implemented a proprietary transportation system, called Roadnet, to optimize delivery routing and improve fuel efficiency throughout its fleet. In addition, Unisource continually invests in its business fleet by replacing outdated tractors with newer equipment.
Last month, Unisource Logistics Solutions – a division of Unisource Worldwide – earned the SmartWay Transport Partner logo, Logistics category, a mark of excellence for companies demonstrating superior environmental performance for freight operations.
