WAXIE Mesa was recently honored at the Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s 100th Annual Leadership Awards.

WAXIE Mesa received the top honor by winning its category for Mid-Size Business of the Year (25-100 employees). The event was attended by 450 people, which included local and high ranking political figures as well as business owners and representatives from businesses throughout the greater Phoenix Valley. The awards ceremony recognized not only businesses, but individuals in education, tourism and service awards to people and companies which have a dramatic effect on local business and civic issues.

To give some scope to the magnitude of what the award represents, Mesa is the third largest city in the state and 39th largest city in the nation. Mesa has a population of more than 468,000 and covers an area of over 133 square miles.

In attendance representing WAXIE were David Wax, Owner/Executive Vice President, Bob and Laura Gattis, Vice President/General Manager Arizona, Eric and Diane Frei, Regional Sales Manager, Rick and Allison Smith, Sales Manager and Gene and Lonnie Kearns, Operations Manager. The evening and event was capped off by a win in the category which was brought about by a close working relationship with the Chamber and community involvement.

WAXIE Mesa has hosted several Chamber events which include Mixers and New Member Orientation meetings which always present opportunities to show off our LEED Certified Facility. The award represents “Best in Class” performance and belongs to all employees.
