It may only be the second week of June, but experts are already calling for a hurricane season that's more severe than usual, multiple media outlets report. Luckily, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has resources that provide businesses and employees advice on how to handle hurricane season.

Here are a few of those sources:

1. OSHA's Hurricane Preparedness page gives an easy to understand breakdown of the five hurricane types and what each entails. This allows businesses and employees to understand the severity of the storm that's set to hit.

The page also gives an explanation of how businesses can create an evacuation plan in the event of a hurricane.

2. OSHA's Hurricane eMatrix explains how hurricane response and recovery is carried out. The purpose of this resource, according to OSHA, is to help businesses better protect their workers during response and recovery efforts.

Those living in an area where a hurricane might strike are encouraged to maintain a supply kit, which one expert says should include personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand sanitizer.
