For many patients at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, they are enduring some of the most difficult times of their lives without a lot to cheer up about. Any little distraction to give them a laugh or even just put a smile on their face can go a long way. In an effort to make that happen, window cleaners last month decided to surprise patients by dressing up in superhero costumes.
As reported by WJAR 10 NBC, FISH Window Cleaning, which is contracting to the hospital, came up with the brilliant idea on Oct. 19, with washers ascending the building and greeting patients from the outside as recognizable superheroes including Spiderman and The Flash. FISH Window Cleaning owner saw it as a fun gesture to put a smile on everyone’s face — especially the patients.
The plan worked perfectly, as clinical manager Shady Reyes at the hospital noted the the children were beyond excited to see the superheroes clean the windows, giving them a reprieve from their stress. Such gestures can go a long way to boosting the mental health and giving them the determination needed in their situations.
