Hand holding paper cut smile face, positive thinking, mental health assessment

SC Johnson Professional, provider of skin care, cleaning and hygiene solutions for institutional and healthcare users, announced the grand prize winners of its Happy Hands dispenser design contest. Out of more than 300 submissions, the elementary school (K-5) category winner is Dylan F., a fourth grader at Red Bank Charter School in Red Bank, N.J. The winner of the middle/high school (6-12) category is Mars B., a ninth grader at LaBrae High School in Leavittsburg, Ohio.

Both winning students will receive a $300 general-use gift card, and their schools will each receive a $1,000 donation. Additionally, SC Johnson Professional will provide up to 1,000 manual soap/sanitizer dispensers featuring each winner’s artwork to the winning school systems.

“We are incredibly proud of Dylan and how our community rallied behind him to support his incredible design,” said Kristen Martello, Head of School, Red Bank Charter School. “His artwork will serve as a daily reminder to students and staff of the importance of hand hygiene, and we are excited to see it displayed in our school.”

“We are thrilled to celebrate Mars and her winning design,” said Katie Kistler, teacher, LaBrae High School. “Her ‘Wash Your Wings’ message is a fun and engaging way to remind students of the importance of proper handwashing, and we love seeing her creativity make a real impact.”

The design entries were evaluated based on visual appeal, overall design, unique design elements and creativity, with five finalists selected in each category. A public voting period took place from February 3rd through 28th, allowing communities to rally behind their favorite designs.
