World records

The Manchester Cleaning Show was recently held and featured many notable feats, but perhaps no victory was more impressive than the window cleaning speed competition.

As reported by UPI, the competition involved contestants cleaning three office windows in the shortest amount of time. Winning the race — and beating the female Guinness World Record by .15 seconds in the process — was Alicia Burrows, with a time of 16.13 seconds.

While Alescia isn’t a window cleaner herself as a profession, her talent doesn’t come from nowhere. Her own father, Terry “Turbo” Burrows, holds the male version of the same 3-window record at 9.14 seconds. Despite choosing a different career both, Alescia reflected on her childhood and how much she enjoyed watching her father compete, traveling with him to London for events sanctioned by the Federation of Window Cleaners.
