The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) announced the launch of its first-ever Youth Event, scheduled for July 9, 2025, aimed at attracting young talent to the professional cleaning industry. This one-day event will highlight the diverse career opportunities available within the cleaning and facilities management (FM) sectors.

In collaboration with Youth Employment UK (YEUK), BICSc will showcase various career paths through expert presentations and interactive panel discussions. The event seeks to provide young people with a comprehensive understanding of the job roles accessible after completing their education.

Neil Spencer-Cook, BICSc Group Managing Director, emphasized the event's goal to clarify the numerous career options available and the skills required for success. He stated that the event underscores BICSc's commitment to being a youth-friendly and industry-friendly organization, dedicated to fostering opportunities within the local community.

The event, held at IET, Austin Court, Birmingham, will coincide with Youth Employment Week, from July 7-11, 2025. It will focus on guiding students and highlighting the breadth of career opportunities in the cleaning and FM industries.

Experts from BICSc and YEUK will share personal insights and career experiences to inspire attendees. Discussions will also cover early and extended career paths in industry innovation.

Spencer-Cook expressed enthusiasm about the event, which will feature presentations, panels, and exhibitions from youth-friendly companies. Sponsors and exhibitors will have the opportunity to showcase their career prospects and connect with potential young professionals.

The event aims to provide information about the multitude of career opportunities available and inspire the next generation of specialists within the sector.

BICSc, the largest independent professional and educational body in the cleaning industry, is offering various sponsorship and exhibition packages for the event.

This initiative highlights the industry's proactive approach to addressing the challenge of attracting young talent. By showcasing the diverse and rewarding career paths available, BICSc aims to change perceptions and build a skilled workforce for the future.
