Since you received SM’s May issue, I’ve received some intriguing reponses to the article “E-Commerce.” One reader said he had three new customers start ordering online since the article was published. Now I like to think that’s a result of the article, but the fact is customers are moving online at a slow but steady pace. Please pass your e-commerce tales my way.

Remember when we were scared to death of the “disintermediation” the Internet would enable? (Manufacturers selling straight to end users due to Internet connectivity.) I think we’ve all realized that’s not going to happen soon...or maybe, ever. Rather, all the debate and tumult helped us realize that the function we serve — the product pipeline from manufacturer to end user — is an inherent and critical element of classic free enterprise.
