Members of sales and marketing organization, AFFLINK, met in San Diego, California, in June, where they rallied behind the 2014 theme: “Play to win.” More than 700 guests attended the event, held at the Marriott Resort Marquis & Marian and San Diego Convention Center.
Attendees participated in educational breakout sessions, held one-on-one meetings and learned of new engagement programs developed to keep members relevant in the changing marketplace, among other activities.
A keynote address was given by Jon Gordon, author of the New York Times best-selling book “The Energy Bus,” who discussed how to fuel one’s life, work and team with positive energy to remain successful.
On that note, several long-standing AFFLINK members were recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the Summit — including Cheektowaga, New York-based Chudy Paper Co., which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary — where the group celebrated the heritage and longevity of independent businesses in the jan/san industry.
Summit 2014 closed out with a block party for its partners on the final evening of the show, which included local food trucks, street performers and musicians to wrap-up the event in “true San Diego style.”
“The energy at Summit was at an all-time high,” says AFFLINK President Dennis Riffer. “Our members and suppliers have validated the strategies we have in place, and we’re going to build on their momentum to continue driving this industry forward — now and into the future.”
