Company High Notes

Small and medium-sized sanitary supply distributors succeed by taking risks and seeing how far business capabilities can stretch.

Courtesy Sanitary Supply, a small distributor in Sterling Heights, Mich. — close to Detroit — was rewarded for its extra effort when it saw months of planning and preparation result in landing a 288-school account for the Detroit educational district.

“Some manufacturers thought we were wasting time,” said Robert Nasierowski, president of Courtesy. “We walked through every building and every closet.” In the end, the school district placed a $1.6 million order on behalf of all 288 schools.

Courtesy met its August 9th deadline by having two salespeople make deliveries to 15 schools per day until every school was fully stocked. The company was able to fulfill and service the entire order without outside help.
