ISSA, Lincolnwood, Ill., announced a partnership with the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI), and renewed their alliance with the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association (CSSA).

In the alliance with BSCAI, the two organizations formed a partnership to capitalize on the strengths of both organizations.

The two associations will collaborate to co-host or assist with events, educational programs, membership and regulatory and civic issues.

The agreement is designed to create improved understanding, efficiency and sharing between the groups.

“This strategic partnership between ISSA and BSCAI is designed to create improved value, business relationships, and efficiency for the industry among all channel partners by bringing the distributors, building service contractors, facility service managements, and product manufacturers closer together,” says ISSA executive director John Garfinkel in a news release. “I expect this announcement to be the first of several between us, identifying and creating greater synergies and mutual efficiencies both for the associations and particularly for our respective members.”

The formation of the strategic partnership has been in progress for several months and was driven by requests from members, vendor parties and the leadership of both associations.

Additional details of the strategic partnership are being finalized and will be announced at the BSCAI Annual Convention and Trade Show on March 7, 2009.

In furthering ISSA’s partnership with CSSA, the two organizations announced a joint-membership program. CSSA companies looking to become ISSA members will receive a 15 percent dues discount starting with their 2009 membership. ISSA companies wishing to join CSSA will also enjoy the same discount in 2009.

“We are happy to have reached this joint-membership decision,” says CSSA interim executive director Mike Nosko in a statement. “This will remove any confusion that our members may have regarding ISSA membership.”
