NPTA Alliance Turns 100
The NPTA Alliance (formerly the National Paper Trade Association) recently announced the program for its 100th Anniversary Convention, which will take place October 24-27, 2003, at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago. The convention serves as an annual gathering of distributors and suppliers in the paper, packaging and supplies distribution channel.

To honor the NPTA Alliance’s 100th anniversary, several new events and attractions will highlight this year’s convention. The anniversary dinner will feature entertainment by comedian Rob Bartlett, and there will be an ongoing display of industry memorabilia throughout the four-day convention.

Cleancare Recognized by Clarke
Clarke, Division of Alto, a Chesterfield, Mo.-based manufacturer of floor care equipment, recently presented Cleancare of Dallas the award for Clarke distributor of the year. The award recognizes Clarke’s No. 1 sanitary supply distributor for 2002. Cleancare executives Gary Piepenburg and Tom Woods were presented with a plaque by Mark Hefty (Clarke’s CEO), John Castaldo (vice president of sales), Bill Bukowski (regional manager) and Herb Dodson (district manager).

Fuller Brush Co. Adds Antimicrobial
The Fuller Brush Co., Great Bend, Kan., a manufacturer of custom brush components, recently introduced a new addition to its custom brush line: brush filament material made with AgION antimicrobial compound. The filament uses silver ions to inhibit cell replication of a broad spectrum of microbes.

AMA Launches Unique Campaign
Advantage Marketing Associates (AMA), Chicago, an international alliance of janitorial, foodservice and paper wholesalers, recently started a new advertising campaign. AMA is giving away $100 coupons that can be used by end users when they purchase sanitary supply products from distributors who support Advantage product lines. Dosatron International, Clearwater, Fla., a manufacturer of proportioning systems, recently announced that Gary Berglund has joined the company as sales manager of the Pacific Northwest. He will be the Dosatron contact for all distributors in Oregon, Washington and northern California.

The Malish Corp., Willoughby, Ohio, a manufacturer of brush products, recently announced that Roger B. Reed is national sales manager of distributor sales. He will be working from Malish’s world headquarters in WIlloughby and will be responsible for the continued growth of distributor sales.

All-Brite Sales Co., Jacksonville, Fla., recently announced the retirement of James Cochran, vice president of the company. He has 45 years industry experience.

Triple S, Brillerica, Mass., recently announced three new additions to its staff: Sandi Moscillo is supplier relations and logistics manager; Pete Dolder is Midwest regional sales manager; and Michele Orlowski is hand and skin care specialist.

Spartan Chemical Co., Inc., Maumee, Ohio, has announced three new sales managers: David Cox is southwest divisional sales manager; Rollin E. “Skip” Seal is northeast divisional sales manager, and Theodore E. Rapp is floor care manager.

ABC Compounding, Atlanta, has announced that Frank Mauro is joining the company as senior vice president of business development and sales. Prior to joining ABC, Mauro was president of Athea Laboratories.
