Betco Corp., Toledo, Ohio, acquired Bio-Systems International, Beloit, Wis., a provider of bacterial-based products. Bio-Systems will continue to conduct R&D, manufacture and provide customer and technical support from their facilities in Beloit. Current management, led by Malcolm Peacock, president and CEO, will remain in place and the company will continue to autonomously operate as an independent subsidiary of Betco.


Grainger, Chicago, acquired substantially all of the assets of SafetyCertified Inc., Jacksonville, Fla. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Grainger will offer the fee-based online service that assists organizations to comply with OSHA regulations as a complement to its safety product line.


HP Products Corp., Indianapolis, completed the acquisition of Johnson-Urschel Chemical and Supply Co., Toledo, Ohio. The sales team of Johnson-Urschel will remain in place.


Perkins Paper Inc., Taunton, Mass., has agreed to purchase certain assets of Cirelli Foods Inc., of Middleborough, Mass., effective Nov. 1, 2010.
