The New Jersey Sanitary Supply Association's (NJSSA) Social Outreach Committee held its 16th Annual Operation Clean Sweep in October. Thirteen member company volunteers cleaned The Rescue Mission of Trenton, an agency that provides a safe, clean, warm refuge for the homeless, the hungry, the transient and the addicted. In addition, 24 member companies and individuals donated cleaning and janitorial supplies to aid the Mission's community-based facility.
"We are very thankful and proud that so many NJSSA member companies and volunteers stepped forward in this challenging economic year to donate products and their time to help The Rescue Mission of Trenton," says Dan Rubinstein, NJSSA trustee and chair of the Social Outreach Committee, in a news release. "It was also very gratifying to hear some of the Mission's residents speak to us about their experiences and how important the Rescue Mission is helping them get back on their feet."
Students from St. Michael's Parochial School in Bordentown, N.J., also participated in the cleaning effort and taught some of the Mission's residents how to clean their facility.
