OBITUARY
Marcel Lépine, owner of Les Produits Sanitaires Lépine Inc., Chicoutimi, Quebec, died November 7 after a long illness. He was 66 years old and is survived by his spouse, Lili Paradis.

Dade Paper, Miami, has acquired Colonial Paper, Ocala, Fla. David Tuck, president of Colonial Paper, will remain with the company along with a majority of the staff as operations transition to DadePaper’s Orlando branch.
Minneapolis-based Tennant Co., and Bissell Homecare Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich., announced a licensing agreement that allows Tennant’s new patented carpet-cleaning technology to be sold by Bissell.
The technology is under Tennant’s ReadySpace carpet care products and will be marketed by Bissell under the name PROdry.
SCA Tissue North America, Philadelphia, has taken an equity position in American Fiber Services, an Atlanta-based recovered fiber supply chain specialist.

W.W. Grainger Inc., Chicago, will establish a global supply chain function under senior vice president D.G. Macpherson, effective immediately. The new function will provide global planning, coordination and specialized expertise to supply chain organizations in all of the company’s business units. The initial focus will be on global supply chain architecture, procurement and supply chain talent management.
Minneapolis-based Tennant Co., has won a 2008 R&D 100 Award for its ec-H2O™ technology, which converts plain tap water into a cleaning agent without any added chemicals.
The award recognizes the 100 most technologically significant new products and processes of the year.
National Chemical Laboratories Inc., Philadelphia, announced its intention to remove all bio-accumulative surfactant systems for all cleaning and maintenance chemical formulations over the next three years.

Trojan Battery Co., Santa Fe Springs, Calif., announced that Jeff Elder has been promoted to COO. He has been with the company for over three years and was previously the CEO of the company.
In another move, Bryan Godber has been promoted from director of new business development to vice president of renewable energy and business development.
Denny Smith has been appointed a sales representative in the Upper Midwest for Hamburg Industries Inc., Hamburg, Pa. Smith has over 30 years of experience in the industry.
Dave Rogers was hired to the sales team of Nichols, Muskegon, Mich. He will work out of Southeastern Michigan and serve customers in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas.
W.W. Grainger Inc., Chicago, promoted Michael A. Pulick, to senior vice president and president of Grainger Industrial Supply. Pulick joined the company in 1999 from General Electric.
