Activeion hired John C. Walden as CEO. Walden will also become a member of Activeion's board of directors. Prior to joining Activeion, Walden served as executive vice president and chief customer officer at Sears Holdings Corp.


Guy Blissett, a wholesale distribution industry expert at IBM's Institute for Business Value (IBV), has been named a Fellow of the NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence, the long-range research arm of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW).


Spartan Chemical Co., Inc., Maumee, Ohio, promoted Ronald Laino to the position of regional manager, Metro New York Region.


Joe Fahley has been named vice president of financial shared services for SCA's North American operations. The new Financial Shared Service Center will have locations in Neenah, Wis., and Philadelphia.

The company also announced that Mike Jansen has been named vice president, finance, and CFO of SCA Tissue North America.

Diversey Inc., Sturtevant, Wis., released its 2009 Global Responsibility Report, detailing the company's achievements in sustainable business practices and corporate responsibility. The report highlights a range of company initiatives that address climate change, most notably its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2013.

Earth Friendly Products, Addison, Ill., has completed construction of the largest commercial solar power installation in Illinois. The photovoltaic-generating technology system was installed at the company's corporate headquarters and will generate enough energy to significantly reduce harmful greenhouse gases.

To support environmental projects across the country, Kimberly-Clark Professional, Roswell, Ga., has launched the Green Patrol, a program that will bring employees and other volunteers to communities throughout the United States to help plant trees, aid in cleanup, recycling projects and other environmental efforts.

As part of the Green Patrol, more than 60 Kimberly-Clark employees, as well as groups from the Boys and Girls Club and a local high school volunteered to clean up Proctor Creek, one of the most environmentally impaired creeks in metro Atlanta.

In Philadelphia, more than 25 people from the Kimberly-Clark mill in Chester, Pa., participated in the Clean Air Council 5K Run, while a Green Patrol team assisted with the recycling, composting and cleanup of trash from the event.

JMZ Distributing moved to a new and larger warehouse and office facility located in Englewood, Colo. To celebrate JMZ's new location, more than 40 suppliers and 100 customers gathered together on May 14 for the grand opening.

In March, more than 1,300 distributors met in Washington, DC, for Yardley, Pa.-based Activant's annual conference for wholesale distributors. The three-day event, called Summit, included presentations by industry experts, educational sessions and networking events. In March 2011, Summit will take place in Orlando, Fla.
