Trojan Battery Co., Santa Fe Springs, Calif., appointed Jeff Elder president. Elder, a five-year veteran of Trojan, served as COO and CFO. In his new position as president, Elder will be responsible for the overall strategic management of all operations within the company.


Tartan Supply, Brookfield, Wis., added Craig Schuler to the sales team.


United Stationers, Deerfield, Ill., named Paul Barrett president of LagasseSweet, reporting to Steve Schultz, group president, Lagasse and ORS Nasco. Barrett previously held the position of vice president of sales for LagasseSweet.


Unger Enterprises Inc., Bridgeport, Conn., appointed Jeff Graveline as director of marketing.


Diamond Chemical, East Rutherford, N.J., hired two technical representatives. Bill Jackson will be in charge of laundry accounts in the Metropolitan New York market and New England. Dick Beck will be in charge of sales and service of laundry accounts in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine and other areas of New England.

COMPANY NOTES

Cascades Tissue Group, Waterford, N.Y., will be restructured into three business units: the Away-from-Home business unit for North America; the Consumer products business unit for the United States and the Consumer products business unit for Canada. This new structure will allow the company to continue its internal as well as external growth.

Jean Jobin will hold the position of executive vice president, Away-from-Home Division, North America and be responsible for the development of both Canadian and U.S. Away-from-Home market. Sandra Hudon was promoted to vice president sales, Away-from-Home Products - North America.


Kaivac Inc., Hamilton, Ohio, launched an Integrated Cleaning and Measurement (ICM) Field Lab program designed to engage local scientists and consultants to assist with field measurement and interpretation of data for continuous process improvement.


Network Services Co., Schaumburg, Ill., honored E. Lewis Miller, Jr., president of Southeastern Paper Group, Spartanburg, S.C., with Network's Meritorious Award.

In addition, Pollock Paper Distributors of Grand Prairie, Texas, was honored as Network's Member of the Year.


Multi-Clean Inc., Shoreview, Minn., has renewed its sponsorship with the Healthy Schools Campaign and committed support for the organization's newest edition of "The Quick and Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools."


Roswell, Ga.-based Kimberly-Clark Professional has undertaken a series of improvements and investments in its San Antonio facility to meet product demand. Improvements include: investments in the plant's infrastructure; capital investments in equipment and manufacturing processes; increased capability of the plant's bottle lines; and sustainability best practices.

In addition, the company made a multimillion dollar investment to increase the recycled fiber capabilities of its towel products in its Loudon, Tenn., facility.


ECi Software Solutions (ECi), Fort Worth, Texas, was ranked No. 2,161 on Inc.'s annual 5,000 list. This is the third year in a row ECi has made the ranking.

In addition, ECi was recognized as one of 14 2010 Tech Titans by the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Technology Business Council. Also, it was one of the "Hottest Texas Companies" for 2010, according to the Lead411 business research firm. Finally, ECi was included in the Fort Worth Business Press annual Top 100 list.


Phoenix-based Maintenance Mart was selected as the 2010 Minority Enterprise Development Week's Green Firm of the Year. This award recognizes notable success and outstanding leadership in applying sustainable practices in business and in contributing to Arizona's economy.


Baumgartens, Atlanta, was honored as the Environmentally-friendly Product of the Year for its Conserve Cleaners at the North American Office Products Awards (NAOPA) ceremony, hosted by Office Products International (OPI) in association with S.P. Richards.


Earth Friendly Products, Addison, Ill., sponsored the 11th annual Children's Golf Classic, which raises funds for Seattle Children's hospital. Earth Friendly Products made a contribution of $50,000 at the event.
