Atlanta-based SouthEast Link Inc. recently partnered with Georgia Tech and the Cobb County Public Schools to help them improve their green cleaning programs.

The company partnered with Georgia Tech in an initiative that was recognized for its health-conscious and environmentally friendly cleaning program. The school’s building services department won second place in a green cleaning contest sponsored by American School & University magazine, the Green Cleaning Network and the Healthy Schools Campaign.

In competition with dozens of universities, the schools were analyzed on their cleaning program, their green cleaning history, procedures, cleaners, paper products and equipment.

“We are pleased we could contribute meaningful information as well as offer the right products and procedures to satisfy Georgia Tech’s green cleaning endeavor,” said Phillip Consolino, president of SouthEast Link. “Georgia Tech’s building services department should be applauded for adopting janitorial policies that both benefit the environment as well as produce healthier buildings in which to learn, work and live.”

SouthEast Link also implemented a green cleaning program in the Cobb County Public Schools. Cobb County and SouthEast Link hope to make more school system administrators aware of the health benefits of green cleaning solutions over products and practices. Through the establishment of the program, the county helped reduce inventory in the school system.
