Ensuring a Clean, Healthy And Green Indoor Environment With CIMS
Wednesday, April 30, 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
Speaker: Dan Wagner
Few would argue that facilities are doing everything they can to provide an indoor environment that is optimally conducive to health, productivity and success. At the same time, a better understanding of the principles of sustainability and “going green” is increasingly driving decisions on the highest level. Such reality forces customers to look for better ways to meet both goals without breaking the bank.
One solution? A greater investment in cleaning! Yet, cleaning is all-too-often viewed by customers as a cost to be minimized and not as a core component of sustainability and strategic facility operations. That said, it is cleaning that holds the power to deliver a healthy indoor environment and serves as one of the foundations of sustainability. After all, for a facility to be green, it has to be healthy. And for a facility to be healthy, it has to be clean!
This session will provide attendees with an understanding of the elements of effective, customer-focused cleaning management and green cleaning as implemented through the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building criteria and will show how distributors, manufacturers, cleaning service providers and facility customers can use CIMS and CIMS-GB to offer a new level of service, support and partnership.
Dan Wagner is ISSA’s Director of Facility Service Programs and Legislative Affairs and in-house legal counsel. He is primarily responsible for leading the association’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard & CIMS-Green Building Certification Program, was one of the primary authors of the CIMS Certification Guide, and has published numerous articles and spoken at various conferences, workshops and seminars on CIMS, standardization, and management principles.
